October 8: Thanksgiving Shooting Assignment
I took this photo of my friend Matteo on thanksgiving day. Matteo and I took the bus downtown to look for locations to take photos. After applying the proper white balance to this photo, I de-saturated Matteo's teeth to make them more white. I then used the healing tool to get rid of a few pimples and skin imperfections on his face. I added highlight to his nose tip, and shadows to his checks. I wanted to use this photo for this shooting assignment because I am thankful for all my friends, especially my best friend Matteo who is seen here smiling brightly in this photo.
As Matteo and I walked down Oulette Avenue, we noticed this beautiful old BMW coupe facing us. With the river, and the Detroit skyline in the background, I had a shot lined up. I added slight noise to almost all parts of the photo except for the car. I brightened the highlights, raised the contrast, and raised the clarity and vibrance of the picture. I also saturated the pylon and the orange lights on the car because I like the way the orange contrasts with the blue of the sky and water. I used this photo to show that I am thankful for the area which I live in.
This photo was taken at the park downtown of the War Memorial. After white balancing this photo, I saturated the trees and the red poppy on the memorial itself. I raised the vibrance on the sky and made it a nice cool blue, and then raised the contrast and highlights. I then raised the clarity of the memorial numbers and stones that make up the structure and darkened the shadows. I took this photo because I am forever grateful and thankful of the sacrifices that the war veterans have made for me and my freedom.
